Forbes Magazine has included Yuma on it's list of "Best Small Places for Business and Career" 

Yuma was number 18 out of the top 94 metropolitan areas in the nation.  A metropolitan area is defined as having a population of under 177,000.  

Yuma County currently has a population of about 160,026 (a 49.7% increase since 1990) and the City of Yuma has a population of about 77,515 (an increase of 36.1% since 1990).  Neighboring San Luis, AZ was the 5th fastest-growing city in Arizona with a 263.8% population increase from 4,212 to 15,322.

The recent ranking in Forbes is in addition to many Fortune 500 companies and smaller companies taking looks at expanding in to Yuma due to California's power problems.
