Yuma Cabana -- Not
Your Ordinary Motel

With the amount of traveling we do, we stay in a wide range
of accommodations facilities from B&B's to campgrounds to motels and hotels. Although
each offers a different experience, there are some qualities that we really appreciate,
and the Yuma Cabana had them all. It is no wonder that the motel has been recommended by
several publications including "Roadtrip USA", "Arizona Travel Guide",
and is also AAA approved with two diamonds.
We found our room to be spotlessly clean, pleasantly
decorated--had its very own La-Z-Boy, and was very secure. The rates are reasonable and
the staff was friendly and helpful. Everything we needed was at our fingertips, from 24
hour coffee in the lobby to hairdryers, clock radios, soap and shampoo. There is a laundry
room, complete with iron and ironing board--we love this as keeping clothes clean and
ironed is always a travel "pain"-- and we are over trying to iron on the bed.
As two women traveling alone, no matter
where the destination, security always makes us feel better. The Yuma Cabana has installed
electronic locks on their guest room doors, as well as on all exterior entrances to the
main building. There are hotel style central hallways.
The rooms are equipped with either 19" or
25" TVs and receive 5 channel of HBO with about 60 cable channels. Outside there is a
clean, sparkling, very inviting pool offset by the main entrance that welcomes you with
plants and a fountain. Rooms come with a continental breakfast.
You may choose from four kinds of rooms; Standard (no view
of the pool/19" TV), Deluxe (pool-side room with 25" TV, microwave or
refrigerator), Suites (living room with kitchenette area, 31" TV and sofa bed,
separate bedroom with a king bed, and a 19" TV) and Kitchen rooms (rooms that have a
Kitchen that opens up to your room).
The location is good, within walking distance
to restaurants and a grocery store. We found we could relax, do some work, go out and come
back feeling safe, watch some TV and sleep soundly in very comfortable beds. With a very
hectic schedule the next day, we felt rested and very much appreciated the coffee,
continental style breakfast and a nice chat with the girl at the front desk. Whether you
are on a family vacations or a business trip, the Yuma Cabana is a very comfortable,
pleasant place to stay.
